Updated Eurovision plans for May

EBU just issued a press released with the updated plans for how Eurovision will take place in Rotterdam in May.

From the previously discussed 4 potential scenarios, Option A (full audience in Rotterdam) has been eliminated, leaving the remaining three options still in play. This means that all current ticket holders will be issued refunds later this month, with an option to repurchase tickets again later, should the show be held in a scenario that allows for an audience.

The focus is currently on the Option B scenario, hosting the show in Rotterdam, but with reduced, social distancing, audience. Option C and D are still being kept in mind, should further restrictions prohibit Option B.

We’re grateful for the renewed commitment and backing from the City of Rotterdam and the ongoing support of all the participating broadcasters. We very much hope to be able to gather in Rotterdam in May and will do all we can in the coming weeks to achieve this.
With an ever-changing situation we are taking our time to ensure that we can host the Eurovision Song Contest in the best and safest way possible.

Martin Österdahl, Executive Supervisor of the Eurovision Song Contest
